About the Exhibition
ACACIA explores the roots and branches of my creative work and my personal studies as an artist; hinting at the transcendent idea that all things are connected and tie back to one source.
The name of this exhibition is inspired by the acacia tree. Growing in both tropical and dry climates, the acacia is a large and graceful figure that carries significance for many cultures and places — and for me personally — as it was planted in my mother's hometown in the Philippines over a hundred years ago and remains in the center of town. In visiting my motherland and peeling back the layers of my cultural history and spiritual existence, the acacia tree has grown deeper in meaning to me, tying to my understanding that I am connected to things beyond this lifetime.
This gallery is meant to serve as an experience of coming to and continued discovery.
